Kendrick Lamar’s album GNX has reclaimed the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart, earning 236,000 equivalent album units following his performance at the Super Bowl Halftime Show. This marks the album’s second week at No. 1, after first debuting at the top of the chart upon its release in November.
GNX jumped from No. 4 to No. 1, continuing its success after initially reaching No. 1 with its November release. Lamar also saw two of his earlier albums make a strong return to the top 10. Damn (2017) surged from No. 29 to No. 9, while Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City (2012) climbed from No. 28 to No. 10. With this accomplishment, Lamar becomes the first rap artist to have three albums in the top 10 simultaneously.
The GNX album initially debuted at No. 1 in November, marking Lamar’s fourth consecutive chart-topping album. The surprise release sold 319,000 album units in its first week. The album’s success also helped Lamar become the fourth artist in history to hold the top five positions on the Billboard Hot 100, alongside Taylor Swift, Drake, and The Beatles. This achievement was driven by singles like “Squabble Up,” “TV Off,” and “Luther” featuring SZA.
Lamar’s recent Super Bowl Halftime Show performance featured a star-studded lineup, including SZA, Samuel L. Jackson, Serena Williams, and Mustard, as he paid tribute to Compton. The setlist included songs from GNX as well as fan favorites like “DNA,” “Peekaboo,” “Squabble Up,” and “Not Like Us.”
Lamar’s Super Bowl performance followed his impressive showing at the 2025 Grammy Awards, where his track “Not Like Us” won five major awards, including Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, and Best Music Video.
