Impact Network has announced the cast for its debut scripted series, Highly Favored, a half-hour workplace comedy.
The show will feature Michael Colyar (Blackish, House Party III, The Princess & The Frog, Martin), KiKi Shepard (It’s Showtime at the Apollo, Miss Evers Boys, Grey’s Anatomy), Anthony S. Goolsby (Will Trent, 42), Chico Benymon (Half & Half, Ali), Rodney Perry (Coming to America 2, Johnson Family Vacation), and Melanie Comarcho (Phat Tuesdays, Snoop Dogg’s FCN Around*).
First announced in November, Highly Favored will consist of six episodes, though a premiere date has not yet been set.
Bishop Wayne T. Jackson, CEO and founder of Impact Network, shared his excitement: “With Highly Favored, we are ushering in a new era of original storytelling at Impact Network. This series highlights our commitment to creating positive, impactful narratives that resonate with our audience.”
The show’s official logline describes it as “Rooted in humor, family, community, and a touch of the absurd,” following the story of Pastor Michael Crawley (played by Colyar), who navigates the clash between tradition and modernity with his charismatic yet old-fashioned approach.
Bentley Kyle Evans, who serves as executive producer, director, and showrunner for the series via Harvest Studios, is joined by Trenten W. Gumbs as an executive producer. Royal W. Jackson, Impact Network’s executive vice president, will co-executive produce. In addition to starring, Colyar and Shepard also serve as producers.

The series marks a reunion for Colyar and Evans, who previously worked together on the hit comedy Martin. Evans was a writer and producer on the show, and Colyar appeared as Mr. Whitaker in several episodes.
