Kevin Bacon returns to the screen in a new role as an undead bounty hunter. Amazon Prime Video has released first-look images and announced that “The Bondsman,” a limited series from Blumhouse Television, will premiere on April 3, 2025.
In this eight-episode series, Bacon portrays Hub Halloran, a bounty hunter who is resurrected by the Devil to capture demons that have escaped from Hell. The official logline states that as Hub pursues these demons, he is aided and hindered by his estranged family. Through this journey, he confronts his own past sins and seeks redemption in life, love, and country music.
The cast includes Jennifer Nettles, Damon Herriman, Beth Grant, Maxwell Jenkins, and Jolene Purdy. Grant plays Kitty, Hub’s mother, while Herriman takes on the role of Lucky, the owner of a popular country music club who is in a relationship with Hub’s ex-wife Maryanne (played by Nettles). Jenkins portrays Cade, the son of Hub and Maryanne. Purdy plays Midge, a character described as resilient in a male-dominated world.
“The Bondsman” is produced by Blumhouse Television in collaboration with Marker 96 and CrimeThink Production Company. Erik Oleson serves as the executive producer and showrunner. Other executive producers include Jason Blum, Jeremy Gold, Chris Dickie, Chris McCumber, Kevin Bacon, Paul E. Shapiro, and series creator Grainger David. Erik Holmberg is the co-executive producer.
Directors for the episodes include Sanaa Hamri, Thor Freudenthal, Lauren Wolkstein, and Catriona McKenzie. The series was ordered straight-to-series by Prime Video in June 2023.
Bacon described the series as violent but also infused with humor and heart. He noted that it offers a unique take on demons and their relationship with the Devil.
Viewers can expect an engaging blend of action and comedy when “The Bondsman” debuts on Prime Video.
