Fox has given the green light to a second season of its medical drama “Doc,” starring Molly Parker. The show has been renewed for a full 22 episodes, a significant vote of confidence just weeks before the Season 1 finale on March 18.
“Doc” follows Dr. Amy Larsen, a brilliant and driven former chief of internal medicine, as she navigates her return to work after a brain injury erases her memories of the past eight years. The cast includes Omar Metwally, Amirah Vann, Jon Ecker, and Anya Banerjee, with Scott Wolf and Patrick Walker appearing as recurring guest stars.
The series is led by showrunner Barbie Kligman, who executive produces alongside Hank Steinberg and Erwin Stoff. It is co-produced by Sony Pictures Television and FOX Entertainment Studios and is inspired by the Italian series “Doc — Nelle tue mani.”
Fox expressed enthusiasm for the renewal, stating, “We are thrilled that audiences have connected with Season 1 of ‘Doc.’ The team has done an outstanding job in creating one of the most emotionally powerful series on television. Renewing for a second season was an easy decision, thanks to this incredible team, our partners at Sony, and an exceptional cast led by Molly Parker.”
Katherine Pope, President of Sony Pictures Television Studios, added, “We’re ecstatic that ‘Doc’ has been picked up for a second season. It’s a testament to the exceptional writing, captivating performances from our talented cast, and the incredible reception from audiences. We’re grateful to our partners at Fox for their unwavering support as we continue making more episodes of this show.”
