Blake Lively will attend the world premiere of Another Simple Favor at SXSW on Friday, marking the film’s opening night.
Director Paul Feig confirmed that Lively, along with co-stars Anna Kendrick, Henry Golding, Michelle Morrone, and Elizabeth Perkins, will be at the event. The premiere is set to take place at the Paramount Theater in Austin, Texas.
This appearance comes amid Lively’s ongoing legal battles with Justin Baldoni. The actress made her first red carpet appearance since the controversy began in late December when she attended the SNL50 telecast in February alongside her husband, Ryan Reynolds.
Another Simple Favor is the sequel to A Simple Favor and will be available on Amazon Prime Video starting May 1. Feig spoke highly of Lively, saying, “Blake is the greatest. I couldn’t love her more. She’s a dream to work with and a great collaborator. She has amazing ideas and is open to everyone’s ideas. She’s a pro.”
Lively is suing Baldoni, who directed the film It Ends With Us, for sexual harassment and for allegedly orchestrating a smear campaign against her in the media after she raised concerns about the production. Baldoni, in turn, is suing Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, for defamation.
Premieres of Another Simple Favor are also scheduled for New York City and Los Angeles ahead of the film’s May 1 release on Amazon Prime.
