Clémence Poésy has been cast in the upcoming Neuromancer series adaptation, currently in development at Apple TV+, Variety has confirmed.
Poésy will appear in the 10-episode drama alongside Callum Turner, Brianna Middleton, Joseph Lee, and Mark Strong.
The series, based on William Gibson’s 1984 novel, follows Case (Turner), a top-tier hacker who becomes embroiled in a web of digital espionage and high-stakes crime. With the help of Molly (Middleton), a deadly assassin with mirrored eyes, they attempt a heist targeting a corporate dynasty with dark secrets. Poésy will play Marie-France Tessier.
Known for her film roles in In Bruges, 127 Hours, Tenet, and the Harry Potter series, Poésy has also appeared in TV projects such as The Essex Serpent on Apple TV+ and the first two seasons of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. Other TV credits include The Tunnel, Genius: Picasso, and Gunpowder, Treason, & Plot. Poésy is represented by United Agents and Adéquat.
Neuromancer is co-created by Graham Roland and JD Dillard, with Roland serving as showrunner and Dillard directing the pilot. Both will executive produce the series alongside William Gibson, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Matt Thunell (Skydance Television), Anonymous Content, Drake, Adel “Future” Nur, and Jason Shrier (DreamCrew Entertainment), and Zack Hayden. Skydance Television will co-produce with Anonymous Content and Apple Studios.
Gibson’s Neuromancer was his debut novel and a cornerstone of the cyberpunk genre. The book earned several prestigious awards, including the Hugo, Nebula, and Philip K. Dick Awards, and inspired two sequels, Count Zero and Mona Lisa Overdrive. While there have been multiple attempts to adapt the novel into a film, none have been successful until now.
