Ariana Grande has revealed the release date for the deluxe version of her album “Eternal Sunshine.”
In a post on Instagram Monday, the singer announced that the expanded album, titled Eternal Sunshine Deluxe: Brighter Days Ahead, will be available on March 28.
Grande previously mentioned in January that the deluxe version was complete and would feature a few new songs. She described the project as “very special” and explained that she wanted her fans to have a break from her frequent public appearances. “I’m excited to surprise them with it at some point,” she said. “I’m still thinking about the timing.”
She also emphasized that she didn’t want to add songs to the album just for the sake of it. “The new tracks are short, but they really count,” she added.
Earlier this month, Grande teased the deluxe release while speaking on the Oscars red carpet. She hinted at the album’s arrival, telling Variety, “Keep your eyes peeled,” but was careful not to confirm it would come “soon,” noting that the term “soon” could mean anything from 10 days to less.
The deluxe version of Eternal Sunshine will arrive just over a year after the original album’s release. Grande’s Eternal Sunshine album earned three Grammy nominations, including Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “The Boy Is Mine” remix with Brandy and Monica, and Best Dance Pop Recording for “Yes, And?”
In his review of the album, Variety’s Jem Aswad wrote, “Ariana at 30 sounds older, wiser, and more mature, both in her lyrics and music. If her last albums represented her finding her voice, she’s truly found it now.”
