Alex Cooper, creator and host of the popular “Call Her Daddy” podcast, will produce a new dating series for Hulu titled “Overboard for Love.”
The unscripted show will feature “sexy singles” aboard a luxury yacht, where they’ll mix, mingle, and try to find love. However, the show comes with a twist: gaining access to the yacht’s luxurious amenities won’t be easy. As the competition unfolds, romance sparks, alliances form, and some hearts are inevitably broken. In the end, only one couple will come out on top, while others may be left stranded.
Cooper will executive produce “Overboard for Love” through her production company, Unwell Productions, alongside Matt Kaplan and Mina Lefevre. The series is produced by Jeff Jenkins Productions (“The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives”) in association with 3BMG and Walt Disney Television Alternative. Russell Jay-Staglik and Jason Ehrlich are executive producers for Jeff Jenkins Productions, and Ross Weintraub and Reinout Oerlemans will executive produce for 3BMG.
“I couldn’t be more excited that Unwell Productions’ first unscripted series, ‘Overboard for Love,’ is coming to life with our amazing partner, Hulu,” Cooper said in a statement. “This project marks a major milestone for us and aligns perfectly with our vision to create bold, unfiltered content. We’ve designed a truly unique dating show, and I can’t wait for viewers to see what Unwell is capable of.”
Rob Mills, executive vice president of unscripted and alternative entertainment at Walt Disney Television, shared his enthusiasm: “I’m incredibly excited to collaborate with Alex and the team at Unwell Productions on their first television project. Alex is a trailblazer in shaping the future of entertainment, and this is just the beginning of an exciting journey.”
