Megadeth, the legendary heavy metal band, is set to take the spotlight at an innovative music festival that departs from conventional stages to unfold on virtual battlegrounds.
Dubbed ‘Metal Fest,’ the event is being orchestrated by the gaming publisher Wargaming and is slated to span four of its immersive gaming titles: World of Tanks Modern Armor, World of Tanks Blitz, World of Warships, and World of Warships: Legends.
Kicking off on August 28th, ‘Metal Fest’ promises an amalgamation of Megadeth’s electrifying music, the resonating voices of its band members, and an array of in-game items that will be interwoven within the fabric of these four titles. Of notable excitement is the debut appearance of Megadeth’s emblematic mascot, Vic Rattlehead, within a game environment, marking a significant collaboration.
The synchronization of music and in-game elements will define the festival’s experience. For instance, participants who acquire Megadeth-branded tanks in World of Tanks Modern Armor will be treated to the band’s pulsating tracks resonating within their in-game garage.
This creative alliance isn’t Wargaming’s first endeavor with the metal music scene. In 2017, the company embarked on a partnership with Sabaton for a collaboration within World of Tanks. Additionally, Wargaming played a role in sponsoring a category at the esteemed Metal Hammer Golden God Awards.
The virtual ‘Metal Fest’ brings together the epic resonance of Megadeth’s music with the immersive universe of gaming, offering fans a unique and electrifying fusion of heavy metal and virtual experiences.
