Kanye West has released his new album Bully in an unconventional way, offering it through a series of films edited by Hype Williams. The album is soundtracked by Bully, with West acknowledging that it is unfinished, with some vocals created using AI. He shared three versions of the film, including a “screening version” and two others with different edits.
The 30-minute film features West’s son, Saint, in a wrestling ring using a mallet to fight off opponents from New Japan Pro-Wrestling. The album includes soul samples from artists like Cortex and The Supremes.
West revealed that Bully was inspired by Saint, who told his father he kicked another child for being “weak.” He had planned to release the album on his daughter North’s birthday, June 15.
First teased in September 2024 during a performance in China, the album was shared amid West’s controversial tweets. He criticized streaming platforms and suggested he might release future projects like Donda 2. Despite ongoing public controversies, Bully is currently available through West’s Twitter account.
