Tom Corson, co-chairman and COO of Warner Records, will be honored with the Spirit of Life Award by City of Hope, a leading cancer research and treatment organization.
For over 50 years, the Spirit of Life campaign has raised nearly $170 million to support City of Hope’s research and care. This year’s campaign holds special significance as Los Angeles continues to recover from wildfires.
“We’re thrilled to honor Tom Corson,” said Kristin Bertell, City of Hope’s chief philanthropy officer. “Tom’s leadership in the music industry and his work with the Music, Film, and Entertainment Industry Board reflect the transformative spirit of City of Hope.”
Corson and Warner Records co-chairman and CEO Aaron Bay-Schuck were recently named Variety’s Hitmakers Executives of the Year for 2024. Previous honorees include Jay Marciano of AEG Presents and Jon Platt of Sony Music Publishing.
“I’m honored to be recognized as this year’s Spirit of Life recipient,” Corson said. “City of Hope is about more than treatments—it’s about the people and their futures. I’m proud to support their transformative work.”
Evan Lamberg, president of Universal Music Publishing Group, praised Corson’s dedication. “Tom’s leadership in both the music industry and philanthropy makes him a deserving honoree,” he said. Alissa Pollack, president of City of Hope’s Music, Film, and Entertainment Industry Board, added, “Tom’s commitment to both music and philanthropy will help elevate the campaign’s message.”
