Kenny Chesney, June Carter Cash, and producer Tony Brown have been named the newest inductees into the Country Music Hall of Fame. They will be officially honored in a ceremony in fall 2025.
The announcement was made at a press conference hosted by Vince Gill, who shared personal stories about all three honorees. Chesney, inducted in the modern performer category, expressed his pride in joining fellow East Tennesseans like Chet Atkins and Dolly Parton in the Hall of Fame. Reflecting on his career, Chesney called the honor “surreal.”
June Carter Cash, inducted in the veteran performer category, was represented by her children, Carlene and John Carter Cash. Carlene described her mother as “a force of nature” and credited her with much of her own success. John Carter Cash praised his mother’s dedication to preserving the legacy of the Carter Family songs.
Tony Brown, inducted in the non-performer category, expressed deep gratitude for the recognition. Gill, who has known Brown for over 40 years, shared how Brown had a significant impact on his career, including helping him record the hit song “Go Rest High on That Mountain.” Brown, a key figure in the careers of artists like Wynonna Judd and Rodney Crowell, has previously received the Academy of Country Music’s Icon Award.
