Warner Bros. Discovery has restructured its global streaming content acquisitions, placing them under Royce Battleman, who has been promoted to Executive Vice President of Global Content Acquisitions.
Previously leading U.S. content acquisitions for Max and Discovery+, Battleman will now oversee content for North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia. She will report to Joshua Walker, Chief Financial and Strategy Officer for Streaming.
The move aims to align content strategies for Max and Discovery+, ensuring more innovative offerings for global audiences. Key executives from global content acquisitions will remain in their roles under Battleman, with no job cuts confirmed.
Walker emphasized that the restructuring will optimize deals across regions and strengthen alignment with Warner Bros. Discovery’s global content strategy.
Battleman, who joined the company through HBO’s business affairs, played a major role in securing key licensing deals for Max and supporting the launch and rebrand of HBO Max in 2020 and 2023.
