Lionsgate has confirmed that the third film in the Now You See Me franchise will be titled Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, and a fourth movie is already in development. Ruben Fleischer will return to direct the sequel.
At CinemaCon, Lionsgate’s Adam Fogelson announced that they were so pleased with the third film, they’re already working on the next one. “We can’t wait for audiences to see it,” he said.
Now You See Me 3 will open in theaters on November 14, featuring Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Isla Fisher, and Morgan Freeman, along with new cast members Ariana Greenblatt and Rosamund Pike. The plot centers on the Four Horsemen, who are disbanded early in the movie, followed by a new generation of illusionists teaming up with the Horsemen for a diamond heist.
The first two films were box office hits, with the original grossing $350 million and the sequel earning $334 million.
Bobby Cohen will return as producer, with Alex Kurtzman and Meredith Wieck overseeing the project for Lionsgate. Fleischer expressed his excitement for the new installment, saying, “It combines two of my favorite things—heist movies and magic—and working with this incredible cast was truly magical.”
