Lil Nas X Hospitalized After Losing Control of Right Side of His Face
Lil Nas X has been hospitalized after experiencing a sudden loss of control over the right side of his face. The 26-year-old artist shared the news in a video posted to his Instagram on Monday night, where he appeared in a hospital bed. Attempting to smile, he revealed he was unable to do so, saying, “This is me doing a full smile right now, by the way,” while laughing. He expressed surprise, adding, “I can’t even laugh right bro, what the heck?”
Later in an Instagram Story, Lil Nas X reassured his fans, saying, “Guys I am OK!! Stop being sad for me! Shake ur ass for me instead!” He also posted a selfie, writing, “Imma look funny for a lil bit but that’s it.”
While Nas has not yet confirmed a diagnosis, fans have speculated that he may be suffering from Bell’s Palsy, a condition that causes weakness or paralysis on one side of the face due to a nerve issue. Johns Hopkins Medicine notes that Bell’s Palsy can be triggered by factors such as high blood pressure, infections, diabetes, or toxins.
Lil Nas X, known for his breakout hit “Old Town Road,” has been teasing a new era of music. He recently released a series of singles ahead of his upcoming second studio album, Dreamboy. His debut album, Montero (2021), followed the massive success of “Old Town Road,” which set a record as the longest-running No. 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100, staying there for 19 weeks.
