About the Soundtrack
Benjamin Wallfisch’s score for Alien: Romulus blends orchestral and electronic elements, paying homage to the iconic themes of Jerry Goldsmith and James Horner from previous Alien films. The soundtrack was recorded with the Chamber Orchestra of London at Abbey Road Studios and features a mix of traditional orchestral arrangements and electronic textures to capture the film’s atmospheric tension.
The film, directed by Fede Álvarez, is set between the events of Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986), following a group of young space colonists who encounter hostile creatures while scavenging a derelict space station. Alien: Romulus stars Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu. The film has been well-received, grossing over $350 million worldwide and earning an Academy Award nomination for Best Visual Effects.
