The buzz around Dulquer Salman’s Pan-Indian movie, “King Of Kotha,” has been met with resounding praise from audiences and critics alike. For actor Benny John, being a part of this cinematic triumph is a dream come true, even though his appearance on screen lasts just five seconds.
Benny John, renowned for his portrayal of Chinnan in the Malayalam TV series “Alliyambal,” has taken on a supporting role in Dulquer’s movie. Despite his brief on-screen presence, Benny is cherishing every moment of his involvement.
Initially offered a substantial character with about 10 minutes of screen time, including a song and powerful sequences, Benny’s scenes unfortunately did not make the final cut. He was informed that his role had been edited out. However, the unexpected turn of events took him by surprise as he was later called in for dubbing and eventually secured a prized 5-second appearance in the Pan-Indian film.
In an exclusive chat with ETimes TV, Benny John expressed his excitement, stating, “I am excited. The shoot was at Karaikudi, Madurai. It was about 8 hours from my place Trivandrum. I had traveled twice and it was a bit tiring. But, undeniably, it was all worth it.”
Reflecting on his experience working with director Abhilash Joshiy on the mass movie, Benny described it as an extraordinary journey. He praised Joshiy’s precise vision and dedication to achieving perfection in every shot, even if it meant taking multiple takes.
The vast set of the Pan-Indian movie left a lasting impression on Benny, who considers it a privilege to have contributed to this exceptional work. Prior to “King Of Kotha,” Benny gained recognition for his role in the movie “Kappa” and was seen in the sitcom “Su Su” after his standout performance in “Alliyambal.” Currently, he is busy with the upcoming Rohit VS directorial “Tikki Takka,” starring Asif Ali.
For Benny John, those fleeting five seconds on screen have become an invaluable testament to his journey in the world of cinema, cementing his place in the captivating tale of “King Of Kotha.”
