Scooter Braun, the music mogul whose management practices drew attention following the Taylor Swift controversy, is reportedly facing another setback as two more high-profile clients, Demi Lovato and Ariana Grande, appear to have severed ties with him. While the exact reasons behind these departures remain undisclosed, media reports indicate a shift in their professional affiliations.
According to Billboard, both Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato have chosen to part ways with their longtime manager, Scooter Braun, whose company SB Projects has represented numerous renowned artists. Although sources initially hinted that Justin Bieber, another artist under Braun’s management, was also leaving, subsequent sources refuted this claim, though without making a public statement.
Both Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato are said to be in the process of seeking new management. Ariana Grande has been associated with Braun for her entire music career and has not released an album since 2020. She is set to play the role of Glinda in the film adaptation of the musical “Wicked.”
Demi Lovato joined forces with Scooter Braun in 2019, expressing her excitement about the partnership. This split from Braun has been described as amicable by Variety. Lovato is about to release a new album titled “Revamped,” featuring re-recorded rock versions of her earlier songs.
This development follows J Balvin’s departure from Braun’s management last month, as he subsequently joined Jay-Z’s Roc Nation.
Scooter Braun’s professional history includes a well-publicized feud with Taylor Swift, who accused him of preventing her from purchasing her master recordings when she left his management company. This dispute led to Swift’s decision to re-record her earlier albums, now known as Taylor’s Versions, as a way to regain control over her music.
Representatives for Scooter Braun have yet to comment on these recent developments concerning his clients’ departures.
