Zach Bryan, the country singer-songwriter, was arrested in Oklahoma on Thursday, facing charges of “obstruction of investigation,” according to Rolling Stone. Bryan was subsequently released on bond on the same day.
Following his arrest, Bryan issued a statement on X, formerly known as Twitter, addressing the incident. He admitted that emotions got the better of him, leading to him saying things he now regrets. He expressed his support for law enforcement and apologized for his behavior during the incident.
Bryan’s representative did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone’s request for comment, and the Craig County Sheriff’s Office in Vinita, Oklahoma, was unable to provide further details.
Notably, Bryan recently achieved significant success in his career, with his self-titled album debuting at Number One on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The album simultaneously topped multiple other charts, including rock, rock & alternative, Americana/folk, and country. All 16 of its tracks landed in the Top 50 of the Billboard Hot 100, and his duet with Kacey Musgraves, “I Remember Everything,” also debuted at Number One.
Despite this success, Bryan faced criticism from fans regarding the pricing of tickets for his upcoming 2024 Quittin’ Time Tour. The artist, who previously boycotted Ticketmaster to keep ticket prices reasonable and prevent scalping, returned to the service, leading to soaring ticket prices, with some selling for nearly $1,000.
Bryan’s Quittin’ Time Tour, featuring arena and stadium shows across the country, is scheduled to kick off on March 6 and 7, 2024, with two shows at the United Center in Chicago and conclude on Dec. 13 and 14 with two hometown shows at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He also has two nights booked at Lincoln Financial Field, the home of the Philadelphia Eagles.
Additionally, Bryan received a nomination for New Artist of the Year at the 2023 CMA Awards, which announced its nominees on Thursday morning.
