If you were one of the millions who saw Harry Styles dazzle in glitter and fur during his ‘Love on Tour’ jaunt earlier this year, and you want to relive that magical moment, then you’ll want to get your hands on a brand new photography book celebrating the Grammy-winning artist.
The brand new pocket-sized hardcover book – with contributions from Alex Bilmes, Aya Kanai and Variety’s senior music editor Jem Aswad – is simply titled ‘Harry Styles’ and features more than 140 pages of photos and descriptions of Styles during his most iconic moments both on and off stage. It’s finally out and available to order from Amazon from today.
The book, which became an instant #1 bestseller online when pre-orders became available, is divided into three sections – each with a short introduction about the music, fashion and joyful magic of his appeal. Standout moments include his black Gucci sheer pussy-bow blouse and heeled boots at the Met Gala; his sparkling Coachella performance with Shania Twain; the career-defining launch of his No. 1 hit and video ‘As It Was’; and dozens of red carpet appearances at events such as the Grammys and BRIT Awards.
“Harry Styles is the pop star of the moment, and there’s no point arguing with that,” Bilmes writes in the book’s introduction. “If the overall effect is less lock-up-your-daughters and more take-him-home-to-mum, then perhaps that’s what makes Styles the perfect chart-topper right now. He’s charming, he’s clean-cut, he’s got great manners (and great hair!) and he’s as woke as you want him to be.
Styles’ first solo tour ended at the end of July after nearly two years on the road. The tour now ranks as the fifth highest-grossing tour of all time, grossing approximately $617.3 million from 169 shows and five million tickets sold.
The tour also saw the release of Styles’ third solo album, Harry’s House, which won Grammy Awards for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album, as well as all four BRIT Awards for which it was nominated. “As It Was”, the album’s lead single, went to #1 in 33 countries – including 15 weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100.
