TikTok has announced its first-ever global live music event for fans, with a line-up that includes Cardi B, Niall Horan, Anitta and Charlie Puth.
The social media platform will host ‘In the Mix’ on 10 December at Sloan Park in Mesa, Arizona. In addition to the headliners, TikTok plans to highlight musicians from its Elevate emerging artist programme with performances from Kaliii, Isabel LaRosa, Sam Barber and Lu Kala. While at the festival, attendees will also be able to experience TikTok’s For You feed in person, with activities inspired by what they see while scrolling through the app.
For those unable to make the trip to Arizona, TikTok will broadcast the event with creator appearances and highlights that look back at trends throughout the year.
With its first foray into live concerts, TikTok has continued to expand beyond the app, most recently into streaming. Last week, TikTok’s parent company Bytedance launched TikTok Music in Australia, Mexico and Singapore, following a beta launch in July. Last month, TikTok partnered with Billboard for the inaugural TikTok Billboard Top 50 chart.
“No other platform blends music, creativity and community like TikTok. With In The Mix, our goal is to bring the For You feed to life for fans in the moment and on TikTok,” said Paul Hourican, TikTok’s global head of music partnerships and programming. “Our vision is to create a show reimagined for the TikTok era and our music-loving global community.
