Brent Faiyaz surprised fans early Thursday morning with the news of a new album. Titled ‘Larger Than Life’, the 14-track collection is the follow-up to 2022’s ‘Wasteland’, which peaked at number two on the US album charts.
To build excitement, Faiyaz has uploaded a one-minute teaser for the album, which shows a crew of men selling a box of CDs at night, telling people that it’s “the hottest shit out right now”. Suddenly, Faiyaz arrives in a luxury black car and asks how much the CDs cost, before telling them the price should be much higher.
According to the album’s track list on streaming platforms, the featured artists include Coco Jones on the previously released ‘Moment Of Your Life’, along with A$AP ANT, A$AP Rocky, Babyface Ray, Cruddy Murda, FELIX!, Lil Gray, Missy Elliott, N3WYRKLA, Tommy Richman and TTM Dawg. The album’s artwork is a drawing of the bottom of a sneaker emblazoned with “NUWO”, Faiyaz’s clothing brand, stepping on two cars.
Faiyaz has been on tour for most of this year as part of his 2023 worldwide headlining trek ‘F*ck The World, It’s a Wasteland’. The tour kicked off on 16 July and has visited major markets around the world including Chicago, New York and Los Angeles. Faiyaz’s final show will take place on 20 November in London, UK at the Eventim Apollo.
The singer has also appeared on other albums, including his side project Sonder’s 2022 ‘Too Late To Die Young’, and contributed guest verses to Don Toliver’s ‘Love Sick’. “Larger Than Life” will be Faiyaz’s first release under his new partnership with UnitedMasters, the new home for his independent endeavours.
