Hulu has released the initial trailer for its forthcoming reality series titled “Vanderpump Villa,” hinting at a promise of drama reminiscent of the acclaimed “Vanderpump Rules.”
Following a viral sensation created by an intra-cast affair in 2023 that brought immense attention to “Vanderpump Rules,” “Vanderpump Villa” redirects its focus to the staff at another of Lisa Vanderpump’s restaurants, a former “Real Housewives” star.
Described in a press release as a “Decadence and debauchery collide in ‘Vanderpump Villa,'” the unscripted docu-drama follows Lisa Vanderpump’s personally selected team as they engage in work, communal living, and recreational activities at an exclusive French estate known as Chateau Rosabelle.
Ahead of the commencement of filming for the 10-episode reality series, the producers sought restaurant professionals through a casting call for various roles such as head chef, mixologist, sous chef, line cook, housekeeper, fine dining server, event coordinator, event assistant, and estate manager. The call emphasized the expectation for the hospitality crew to cater to the extravagant desires of affluent guests in the French countryside, seeking individuals with “television-ready charisma.”
The preceding year, “Rules” gained widespread attention within pop culture due to a cheating scandal among the cast, dubbed as “Scandoval,” which significantly altered the series dynamics. The forthcoming 11th season, scheduled to premiere on Jan. 30, will see the return of Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval, two integral figures involved in the Scandoval saga, while Rachel Leviss, the third central figure in the drama, will not be part of the new season.
“Villa” is set to be executive produced by Lisa Vanderpump and is under the production purview of Bunim/Murray Productions, with Entertainment 360 also involved as a producer. Scheduled for a spring 2024 premiere, the show’s anticipation grows as it prepares to grace the streaming platform with its intriguing narrative and behind-the-scenes revelations.
