In a stellar night at the 2023 Emmy Awards, “The Bear” and “Beef” emerged as the standout winners, securing more accolades than any other programs throughout the year.
“The Bear” commenced the evening with four victories from the Creative Arts Emmys, adding six more prestigious wins during the main event. Notably, the show clinched the titles for Best Comedy Series, Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy (Ayo Edibri), Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), Best Actor in a Comedy (Jeremy Allen White), and Best Writing and Best Directing for a Comedy Series, both awarded to Christopher Storer.
“Beef” triumphed with a total of eight awards, with five Primetime Emmy statuettes awarded during the night. The honors included Best Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, Best Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie (Steven Yeun), and Best Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie (Ali Wong). Additionally, Lee Sung Jin secured wins for both Best Writing and Best Directing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.
“The Last of Us” also garnered eight wins, exclusively at the Creative Arts Emmys, solidifying its position as a powerhouse HBO production.
HBO, with a commanding 31 wins across its programs, emerged as the top network of the year. The critically acclaimed “Succession” contributed significantly to HBO’s success, capturing six wins, including Best Drama Series, Best Actor (Kieran Culkin), and Best Actress in a Drama (Sarah Snook). Netflix followed closely with 22 total wins, while FX secured 16 wins.
“The White Lotus,” previously the most-awarded show at the 2022 Emmys, maintained its recognition with five wins this year. Notably, Jennifer Coolidge secured another victory, this time in the Best Supporting Actress in a Drama category, following the show’s change in categories.
