Esteemed British actor Michelle Collins, recognized for her roles in “Coronation Street” and “Doctor Who,” is set to star in the upcoming horror-thriller, “The Haunting of Helen’s Bridge.”
Directed by Stephen Presley, known for “Pandemic: the people, the conspiracy, the journey,” and co-written by Presley and Gemma Esau, the film has recently concluded principal photography. It delves into the eerie urban legend centered around Helen’s Mountain and its notorious bridge, situated in Asheville, North Carolina.
“The Haunting of Helen’s Bridge” revolves around the malevolent spirit of Helen, a grieving mother who, grappling with the loss of her child, met a tragic end by hanging herself from the bridge. The narrative incorporates actual paranormal footage captured at the location.
Expressing her excitement about the project, Michelle Collins remarked, “I’ve never been in a horror genre movie before, so I was thrilled when this opportunity came along. Despite initially being worried about having nightmares after the filming, I genuinely enjoyed the whole experience, and I’d love to make another horror now. I can’t wait for people to watch it.”
Director Stephen Presley shared his vision for the film, stating, “I aspired to craft a film that intricately blurs the lines between fact and fiction, creating a space where authenticity prevails in every element.”
Casting for the film was handled by Ajo Kacmar of IO Casting, with Philippe Ashfield at Instant Entertainment serving as the publicist. “The Haunting of Helen’s Bridge” is a Silent D Pictures production, led by producer Djonny Chen, in collaboration with Presley for Grimm Pictures, and Ajo Kacmar.
Scheduled for delivery in 2025, the film joins Silent D Pictures’ roster of projects, including “High Wire,” featuring emerging Hong Kong star Isabella Wei, and “Influenced!,” a black comedy set in the realm of social media influencers, headlined by Harry Potter star Evanna Lynch.
