Apple TV+ has announced that its latest offering, “Masters of the Air,” has achieved unprecedented success, surpassing all previous series launches on the streaming platform. Although specific viewer numbers were not disclosed, the epic war miniseries has outperformed notable original titles such as “Hijack,” “The Morning Show,” and “Severance.”
Following its debut, “Masters of the Air” experienced a remarkable surge in viewership worldwide, with a 65% increase compared to the previous week across all Apple TV+ content. This surge was evident across more than 100 territories, indicating a widespread appeal for the series.
Currently airing new episodes, “Masters of the Air” is set to premiere its sixth installment on Friday, February 23, with the finale scheduled for March 15.
Executive produced by industry heavyweights Steven Spielberg for Amblin Television, along with Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman for Playtone, the series boasts a stellar production team. Co-executive producers include Amblin’s Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey, along with Playtone’s Steven Shareshian, series writer John Orloff, and Graham Yost.
Based on Donald L. Miller’s acclaimed book, the miniseries brings to life the harrowing wartime experiences of the 100th Bomb Group, known for their perilous aviation missions over Nazi Germany. With a talented ensemble cast including Austin Butler, Callum Turner, Anthony Boyle, and others, “Masters of the Air” has garnered widespread critical acclaim.
