Prepare to embark on another adventure at the Pokémon Resort as Netflix confirms the production of additional episodes for the charming animated series “Pokémon Concierge.”
Director Iku Ogawa shared the exciting news, stating, “I am happy to let you know that we are now working on the new episodes for ‘Pokémon Concierge!’ Life at the Pokémon Resort continues. Please look forward to it! Let’s see which Pokémon will come visit as a guest this time!”
The initial four episodes of “Pokémon Concierge” debuted on Netflix on December 28, 2023, captivating audiences with its bite-sized, 15-minute format. Set on a tropical island dedicated to rest and relaxation, the series follows Haru, voiced by “The Boys” star Karen Fukuhara, as she embarks on a journey to the resort and unexpectedly becomes its newest concierge. Along the way, she encounters a colorful array of Pokémon and forms a heartwarming bond with a lonely Psyduck, a water-type duck Pokémon.
Ogawa’s exceptional direction in “Pokémon Concierge” has earned him an Annie Award nomination in the best direction-TV/media category, highlighting the series’ quality and appeal.
Producer Hidenaga Katakami hinted at the exciting possibilities for future episodes, emphasizing the diverse range of Pokémon that could make appearances. “Because it’s on an island and we are near water, there are a lot of water-type Pokémon that appeared,” Katakami explained. “In the future, maybe we’ll have some more water-type Pokémon, but at the same time, maybe it’ll be interesting if you do the opposite. For example, electric-type Pokémon are not really good near water, but maybe it’s interesting if you bring them to a water-rich environment and see how they react.”
As fans eagerly await the new episodes, “Pokémon Concierge” promises to continue delivering heartwarming adventures and delightful encounters with beloved Pokémon characters.
